Sam Kahn
EVERETT, WA CHAPTER LEADER
+ V4W CHAPLAIN

Marine and Army Veteran, Sam, leads the Discipleship and Chaplain training here at Veterans For Worship. As our Board Chairman and Outreach Director, he works with those called to minister to veterans and their familes and participates in various local veterans outreach events. He is a proud alumnus of Liberty University (Bachelor of Science Multidisciplinary) and Crown College (Master of Christian Studies and Master of Divinity).

Sam has a heart for and is called by God to disciple God's people. A pastor with 11+ years leading a small home church and various Bible studies, he also enjoys working with others in a one-on-one mentoring and discipling relationship.

Richard Smith
UTICA, NY CHAPTER LEADER

Army Veteran, Rich, grew up in Rome, NY and married his high school sweetheart, Teri. They attended the same church (The Rome Salvation Army) where they met as children. One week after graduating from Rome Free Academy, Rich left for the US Army where he would spend the next 24 years serving in numerous assignments and deployments. Rich retired as a Army Warrant Officer (CW4).

Rich and Teri have three grown children, Lindsey, Brian and Dustin, and due to the death of their son Dustin, are currently raising three of their grandchildren, Amerie, Elodie and Maisy. They have nine grandchildren. Following his retirement after 24 years in the U.S. Army, Rich and Teri attended seminary at the College for Officer Training in Suffern NY (The Salvation Army) where they were ordained as pastors. They pastored churches in Pittsfield MA, Lowell MA., and Rome, NY. After seven years they decided to stay home, and became members at the Rome Alliance Church where he became the Pastor for several years and was ordained by the Christian and Missionary Alliance.

In August 2024 Rich started the Utica, NY chapter of Veterans For Worship, hosting meetings the third Wednesday of the month at the Good News Center. Rich has a BS in Social Structure, Social Theory, Social Change from SUNY, Empire State College, and a graduate of the College for Officer Training in pastoral ministries-Salvation Army. He is also ordained through the Christian and Missionary Alliance. His wife Teri is the owner/operator of Cottage Hill Daycare, and is a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Debbie Maund
MEBANE, NC CHAPTER LEADER

Army Combat Veteran, Debbie, completed her Masters of Divinity in 2013 and began to serve as an Army Reserve Battalion Chaplain. She has served as the Deputy Division Chaplain for the 104th Training Division and currently serves as a Family Life Chaplain for the 88th Readiness Division.

On April 23, 2016, Debbie felt called to start Veterans For Worship. Her work as an Army Reserve Chaplain helped her to see that when veterans and the military left the military, they would lose a chaplain in their life and may not connect to a local faith community. God’s vision for Veterans For Worship would provide chaplain support during patriotic holidays (Worship), veteran stand down events (Outreach), and provide a veteran consultant to churches and businesses (Network). Debbie, and her husband Bob, live in Mebane, NC.

Tim Robinson
JACKSONVILLE, FL CHAPTER LEADER

Navy Fleet Marine Force Veteran, Tim, served alongside Navy Chaplains for 10 years as a Religious Program Specialist (RP) at both Navy and Marine Corps Commands. While he was on active duty, Tim completed a BA and MS at St. Leo University in Criminal Justice. Upon transitioning from active duty, Tim served for 5 years a police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office as a patrol officer, and a DUI enforcement officer. Utilizing his experience as an RP, Tim also had collateral duties as a member of JSO's Critical Incident Stress Management Team, and Peer Support Unit.

Tim has a passion for serving fellow Veterans and First Responders. In addition to leading our Jacksonville Chapter, Tim helps Criminal Justice System-involved veterans as a mentor with Veterans Treatment Court, and serves as Chaplain for the Jacksonville Detachment of The Marine Corps League.

Tom (TJ) Jones
OCALA, FL CHAPTER LEADER

Navy Combat Veteran, Tom, is a retired Navy Master Chief, retired Lockheed Martin Production Operations Manager, Project Management Professional (PMP), ordained minister, veteran chaplain, and an Eagle Scout. During more than 26 years of combined active and reserve naval service, he served in numerous aviation maintenance and leadership assignments, deployed in support of Operation Earnest Will and Operation Iraqi Freedom, and advanced through the enlisted ranks to Master Chief Aviation Electronics Technician (AVCM). His military decorations include multiple awards of the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and numerous unit, campaign, and service awards.

Following retirement from both the Navy and Lockheed Martin, Tom has devoted his time to ministry and serving fellow veterans and is a member of the Marion County Honor Guard. He is an ordained minister at City Light Church and serves as a volunteer Veteran Chaplain in the City of Ocala and throughout the Marion County community; he regularly ministers alongside Veterans Helping Veterans USA.

In 2025, Tom chartered and became the founding Chapter Leader of Veterans for Worship – Ocala. Together with his wife, Holly, he also co-founded Restoring Hearts Outreach, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families find hope and healing after loss. Holly serves as the organization's Founder and President and is a Certified Grief Recovery Method Specialist. Tom and Holly reside in Ocala, Florida, where they continue a lifetime of servant leadership through faith, ministry, and service to God, veterans, families, and their community.

Pete Blum
GREATER TAMPA BAY, FL CHAPTER LEADER
+ V4W CHAPLAIN CANDIDATE

Navy and Marine Veteran, Pete, is our Vice Chair, Chief of Staff, and Networking Director. Pete provides organizational leadership, creates partnerships, and hosts virtual fellowship, board, and committee meetings. Aside from the servant leadership he has provided throughout his time in the military and civilian life, he has also been an adult education trainer, facilitator, coach, and mentor to individuals, teams, and businesses.

Pete served eleven honorable years in the military with his last command being the Presidential Helicopter Squadron (HMX-1) in Quantico, VA. After transition he has worked in corporate, small business, and startup communities. He’s currently a Veteran Employment Consultant for Boley Centers, assisting veterans who are homeless or at extreme risk of homelessness to find employment and other resources for Pasco and Hernando Counties in Florida.

Pete launched the Greater Tampa Bay Chapter of Veterans For Worship in March 2020. As a veteran and a military transition expert, he understands that transitioning from the military can be difficult. Pete continues to serve the military community, and assisting transitioning military personnel and veterans through Veterans For Worship and other nonprofit organizations, helping them on their life and/or faith journey. Pete, from Cincinnati Ohio, is married to Brenda Blum, from Joliet Illinois. Between the two of them they have six children and 8 grandchildren. Pete’s favorite things to do are geocaching with Brenda and exploring new places together.
